Re: Ed Miliband
I am not saying it is ok but the alternative is starving children in Africa. The public don't care for the ins and outs they will just see on the BBC that the wicked tories took the money away.

We have enough problems as it is with the BBC portraying us as evil blood sucker leeches hellbent on selling the NHS and starving the poor without every third world charity, celebrity and the pope getting in on the act too.

Every bloody disaster bob geldof and bono will be wheeled out to condem the evil tories while people drown or starve or catch a nasty disease and we'll end up with comic relief and children in need clips of children crying in the street and old frail people all because the wicked evil tories took the poor third worlds money away.

The only way overseas aid is ever going to get cut is if labour do it.

Re: Ed Miliband
So £12 billion a year is ok

We're £3 trillion in debt including PFI and under funded pensions with £90 nil deficit a year

But yeah give away £12 nil a year

Re: Ed Miliband
It's not being given away for nothing..I also find fault with the idea you can have foreign aid or strong defences. I want both.

Re: Ed Miliband
Foreign aid ?

Yeah cut defence cost and raise forge in aid really works

Tax incentives for business working in other countries I could stomach but giving away money for nothing when we're fucked is not on

Still the Aussie army are happy quiet a few Brits are joining them

Giving the socialist EU one more penny is not a bloody achievement, it's a complete and utter total joke.

balders 1:42 Thu Apr 9
Re: Ed Miliband
So increasing foreign aid and increase funding to the EU

Is that an achievement when our finances are fucked ?

The Tories have the cheek to say Labour are shit at the economy

Re: Ed Miliband
We've got more doctors and nurses in the NHS and record investment.

We've got more children going to good schools and giving parents more flexibility rather than just insisting everyone went to the local school whether it was good or not.

We've increased foreign aid.

We've cut taxes for millions of people

We are taxing the rich more. The banks are paying more in tax. The rich are paying more in tax and the non dems are paying stamp duty for the first time ever.

We've cut and then frozen fuel duty.

We've reformed stamp duty to make it fairer.

We've abolished some of the taxes on savers, we are supporting savers with pensioner bonds and we've allowed millions of pensioners the flexibility to spend their hard earned money in whatever way they wish.

We've also increased pensions too.

But the main thing we've done is got Britain working again. We have more women in work than ever before, eighty percent of the new jobs are going to British people and are skilled work and we've banned zero hours contracts from stopping you working elsewhere.

We've created more jobs than the whole of Europe and while our largest trading partner, the eurozone block has a recession we've been able to grow the economy with new trade deals and working with new emerging markets.

The harsh reality is labour always spend too much and borrow too much and always leave with unemployment higher than when they took office.

Ps.

We havent launched any illegal wars, lied to the British people about going to war, claimed we've abolished boom or busy, told the British people after Northern rock that every other bank was safe or penalised low income workers such as taking away the ten p tax paid while refusing to increase the 40p rate for 13 years until 1 month before an election.

Oh and we haven't nearly bankrupted ourselves in the first place nor have we opened the flood gates to privatisation in the NHS or given bankers knighthoods.

And we've allowed people to goto food banks rather than labours heartless and evil policy of banning job centre staff from referring people to them.

The gits.

the problem with Labour is that they have to keep the gravy train going because they would never get in otherwise. Real Labour does not suit big buisness.

Re: Ed Miliband
the rise of the career politicians whose interest is not to serve those who elected them, but to ensure the elite structure funded through the Brussels leviathan is maintained at all costs

There are good people on both sides of the House who continue to try and represent the people in the proper way, but theirs are the minority voices as the likes of Miliband and Cameron keep the gravy train on track

Re: Ed Miliband
Gavros-Hence your belief that the tories are at root to blame for everything that's wrong in this country is just laughable.
Its not as funny as you think, as privitisation, immigration, council house sell off, all started by Conservatism, ROOT cause.
Labour fucks things up, Tories destroy.

True, Griff. Cake yesterday, cake today, cake tomorrow.

That's what happens when you get a lump in the demographic in a democracy. Policy is tailored to the lump.

You mean this bit? Its not mine, i was quoting it.

"We own nothing assets sold to Foreigners, Education is in a mess, NHS and GP again in a mess, continued immigration, downsized armed forces, failing utilities and transport, low affordable housing"

Tory, Labour, whatever, only one common denominator in the world's failings..the baby boomers. They've fucked up absolutely everything. The most feckless, imbecilic generation of man ever to walk the face of the earth.

That's why their policies are so similar now. Brussels dictates policy and the British parties pretend to us that its their idea.

Re: Ed Miliband
"under EU law, there is nothing any government can do re immigration"

Well actually that's not true, is it? Free movement of people within the EU is required, but the EU has little bearing on non-EU policy, apart from appeal to the ECHR. Stiffen non-EU immigration (which is generally where the poorest quality economic migrants come from) and you significantly alleviate the pressure on the system. Even in this realm the UK is seeing relatively few immigrants (as opposed to, say, Germany).
